Merry Christmas 2011

I'm a few days late, but we want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. It's taken some time to download the pictures from all the Christmas events and I was hoping to upload the video from her Christmas program (however it's too large). Below are pictures of Harleigh in her theatrical debut at school. She was one of 5 kids that didn't cry and run off stage so I count that as a "win". If she's anything like her daddy, she'll become a lover of the stage and attention! :) Merry Christmas, enjoy!

Happy 30th Birthday to my wonderful husband!  Today shouldn’t be a shocking day for him, ever since Zak was 25 I’ve been rounding him up to 30!  Since I’m 30+ weeks pregnant we won’t be doing anything too crazy this birthday, Zak said he wanted to spend time as a family and have some mini-dates to ring in the big 3-0!  Plus, I like to throw surprise parties for random birthdays so they’re not expected.  Here are some of my favorite pictures of my wonderful hubby, who I love more and more each day!  Happy Birthday, Zak!

Nascar Hall of Fame- 2011

In early December, we went to the Nascar Hall of Fame with Katie and her daughter Julia.  Here are some pictures of the day.  The girls did good, however, I would not recommend NHOF for kids under 4 there really isn't too many fun things for them.

Julia and Harleigh crankin' it out

Harleigh's arms got tired

"Okay- one more crank, Mom!"

Julia putting out the vibe...

BFF's

They did this for about 40 minutes. Yep stairs, something they wouldn't be able to find anywhere other than Nascar Hall of Fame (yes, that's sarcasm!)
I'm glad we went with a friend because it kept Harleigh entertained.  Stay tuned for Christmas pictures!

Christmas List- Gray Boots

I've been looking around for gray boots that I like and at Harleigh's Christmas program I saw some super cute boots.  I looked online and was able to find them- completely sold out! :(  If you want to surprise me with the best gift ever, find these (size 9 in Gray):

Ladies Night Jewelry Exchange

I try to have a ladies night party once a year (around Christmas time).  This year we did a jewelry exchange. Thank you Jill for my owl necklace- I love it!
It's always fun to spend some time with girlfriends - there's alway plenty of laughing, cocktails, and storytelling.  We typically play a game where you write on three pieces of paper, 1 famous person, 1 movie, and 1 song.  Then you split into two teams and there are 3 rounds. The first round you can describe it as much as you want without saying any part of the word, after you go through all the cards, the second round you act it out, and the third round you say one word.  It's fun to see who's creative, who's competitive, who struggles with the game.  It's always good for a laugh!  Below are pictures from this year's Ladies Night Party:

Toughest Day as a parent...

Last week, Harleigh had a tough week.  She was sent home twice with a bad report from school.  She was not listening to the teachers and was sent to the office 4 times over those two days.  On Friday morning (12/2), we had our first battle of the wills.  Harleigh did not want to pick up the cookie on the ground.  She knows what "clean up" is and she knows that she's not suppose to throw food.  So I asked her to pick up the cookie, she replied "no" and started to walk away, I told her she needed to pick up the cookie or she would get a spankin.  She understands what a spankin is.  She looked at me and said "no".  After some spankins (and a break for mom to say a pray to continue to follow through) Harleigh finally picked up the cookie.  She got a BIG hug and kiss and lots of praise.  I never knew how difficult it would be to parent and to follow through on discipline, but after this experience, there has been a huge improvement in her behavior and she hasn't seen the school office since.

Pumpkin Patch 2011

Here are some pictures from our fun trip to the Pumpkin Patch in October.  Harleigh (20 months) really enjoyed the haystacks and seeing the animals (at a good distance). Enjoy!

Running on the haystacks

Harleigh picking a "unkin"

Looking at the piggies.  She had to be held the entire time.

Still unsure about the pigs

There were too many animals around to get a picture of H straight on

So we figured mom would stand in front of the animals so H was looking in the direction of the camera.  I love this one of Zak and Harleigh

Staring contest with the sheep

I'm so blessed!

Can you tell where Harleigh gets her mouth from?

Using her legs to lift- good form!
