Trip to the Riverbanks Zoo, South Carolina

Daddy and Harleigh can't wait to see all the animals!

Harleigh more interested in the kid next to her than the bears!

100+ old turtles, giving my Great Grandma Saft (101) a run for her money!

Cruisin' the zoo!

Silverback and Harleigh both chillin'

One of Harleigh's favorite's "blower" (we're still working on the "f")

We had a great time at the zoo!  Zak did such a great job organizing this birthday gift, and I loved it!  Harleigh even gave a birthday gift and took a nap while we were there (for those that don't know, she doesn't like to sleep in many places other than her bed).  Hope you enjoy the pictures, all taken with my birthday gift, my new camera!!  Thanks again, Zak, you are wonderful!

Gram Micheals

August 1927- June 2011

One of my favorite pictures of Gram.  Beautiful woman inside and out.

Monday, June 13, 2011

Today, my Grandma Micheals (my mom's mom) passed away.  Her health has slowly been going downhill for the past few years.  It's a tough time for the family, because she was so close to all of her children and grandkids.  Please keep the Micheals family in your thoughts and prayers.

Gram, we love you and miss you, but know you're in a better place.

Corfu Favorites

Corfu was our first stop of the Greek Islands, it was a beautiful city with amazing beaches (too cold to really enjoy), interesting history, and delicious food!  My favorite place for calamari!  Below are a few of my favorites:

6 Years!

On June 2nd it marked mine and Zak's first date.  I would have never thought that 6 years from that date we would be married with a beautiful girl.  I thought I would share the story of our first date for those that haven't heard it-

It was a Friday night and Zak came to pick me up from my house.  We were going to the movies and so he came in met my parents (I tried to keep that as short as possible, you know my dad) and check out the newspaper for movies, we selected "Crash", and headed out.  He was a gentleman, and opened my door (which he still does today) and we went to Regal Cinemas at Stonecrest.  After the movie, which in my opinion was awful.  Zak and I headed to Yellow Rose for a beer.  Along the way, Zak was trying to 'win me over', when I asked "where do you see yourself in 5 years?"  His response was "well, my mom knows this really good photographer so I'll probably get head shots done soon and pursue acting/modeling."  After that, I was about ready to go home, because this clearly was not going to work out.  Glad I went out and grabbed the beer, because I got to talk with him more and see his true personality and what a great guy he was.  It was one of the best decisions I made.

Thank you Zak for the many years of companionship and for putting your dreams of becoming an actor/model aside to pursue ME!  I love you more today than the day we met!

The Ultimate Fighter

Yesterday, Harleigh got into her first fight.  When Zak picked her up her teacher said that Harleigh and another girl got into a hair pulling match.  As any good parent would do, my first question after hearing this from Zak was "Who won?"  When Harleigh came home she had a little scratch under her eye from the brawl.

We hope that her "Terrible Two's" came early and that we won't have to deal with this down the road!

Attitude Adjustment

Recently we've noticed that our little girl has started to become a bit more opinionated.  She knows what she wants, when she wants it.  This is starting to become a problem.  If Harleigh, doesn't get what she wants she'll let you and anyone within 100 ft know by throwing a temper tantrum (screaming and kicking- the works!).  This is not going to fly!  Discipline has begun at the Kamm household.  Harleigh we hope you enjoyed the ride, but now mommy and daddy are putting their foot down! :)

Croatia Favorites

A few favorites from Split, Croatia.  These are from our April 2011 trip to Italy, Greece, and Croatia. We went to the Diocletian Palace, Fife (a local restaurant), and the local fish market.  My sister also found the best Hot Chocolate here!
