Twousins 2nd Birthday- continued...

Here are some pictures of the twousins 2nd birthday at the Dean's.  Earlier that day, we went to Sports Connection and bounced on the inflatables.  Later that evening, the Bradbury family went to the Dean's for pizza and cupcakes.  Thanks for hosting, Dean's!

Harleigh and Landon's 2nd Birthday!

We celebrated a "mini" birthday with Harleigh and Landon this year as I'm 9 months pregnant and not sure with baby boy Kamm will be coming.  We wanted to be sure to do something fun for the little tikes so we took them to Sports Connection and let them bounce around in the inflatables.  They had a great time and were exhausted by the time we left. Here are some pictures of the morning activity.  (I'll post pictures of the pizza and cupcake celebration from later that evening, and pictures from Harleigh's actual birthday- when we went to Lazy 5 Ranch).  Stay tuned.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Harleigh!

Harleigh,

We can't believe you're a 2 year old.  We won't be referring to you as a "baby" anymore, but as a "Big Girl" or "Big Sister".  God has definitely blessed us with a loving, energetic, sensitive, positive toddler that make us smile each day.  Daddy and Mommy love to spend time with you playing "sleep", coloring, painting your nails, playing "hide-n-seek", dancing, and being outside on the swings or playgrounds.  You are truly one of a kind and we thank God for making you the way you are.  Continue to love Jesus, say your prayers, and show respect.

We love you sooooo much!  Happy Birthday, Big Girl!

Love,
Mommy and Daddy

No Pants!

For about the past two weeks, Harleigh sometimes likes to surprise Mommy and Daddy when we go to check on her at nap time with her pants off.  She has kept her diaper on, and has wiggled out of her pants (even jeans that are zipped and buttoned). She'll have her pants thrown across the room.  Last night, while I was at Book Club, Zak went up to Harleigh's room at bedtime to give her more bottle, and someone had completely taken off their pants and DIAPER and thrown them across the room (and no, I'm not talking about Zak).  We're going to have to keep Harleigh in onesies and outfits that snap together, as this could get very messy.

Unchartered Waters....

This week marks my 38th week (a first for me).  Since I had Harleigh at 37wks I've never gone this far in pregnancy.  I'm excited to have an ultrasound this week, to check on the little guys status and size (please be small).  We'll also be discussing the "exit" strategy as with gestational diabetes and protein showing in my urine the doctor doesn't want me to go much further than my due date (Mar 4th).  We'll keep you posted...

It's difficult being a Princess...

I'm not sure where my child gets this from?  She loves to dress up.  Unfortunately, you can't see it in this photo but she also has her princess high heels on too (because what outfit wouldn't be complete without heels).  Thank you Ms. Rama for the princess accessories.  Harleigh puts them on everyday before and after school.  I'm sure there will be plenty more pictures in the "Princess Collection" to come.

Congratulations Zak!

Today, I'm posting twice because I just got a call from Zak that he passed his national test for being a Loan Officer.  I'm so proud of him!  He's been studying for this for a few months and has had a few bumps along the way.  This is a test he needed to pass in order to be licensed and do loans.  I'm so proud of you, Zak!!!  Harleigh said you can have Skittles and Stickers with her tonight in celebration! :)

Potty Time!

This week Harleigh peed on the potty on her own!  She was sitting there reading her books, stood up to say "all done" (and Zak and I kind of rolled our eyes as she does this all the time with nothing in her little potty), except this time she did it!  We celebrated her huge accomplishment with cheers, Skittles, and Stickers!  She was very happy and proud of herself.  We aren't going to be pushing the "potty thing" with the little guy on the way as children tend to regress, but if she continues down this path maybe she won't!  Great job, Harleigh!!!  Mommy and Daddy are so proud of our BIG girl!

Sprinkle!

My office surprised me with a very generous gift and cookie celebration this week in preparation for the arrival of baby boy Kamm.  I recently heard the term "Sprinkle" for what some women have for a second child (typically if it's an opposite sex).  It's not a large party, like a Shower.  It's typically a small get together of only close friends and family in celebration of the second baby.  So "thank you" Morehead for "sprinkling" me with some goodies for baby boy Kamm! I'm very blessed to work with such a great group of colleagues!

"Daddy, SLEEP"

For about 4 months now, Harleigh loves to play the "Sleep" game.  She has Zak (or I) lay on the floor and she gets a clean (yes, she goes in the drawer and helps herself) hand towel places it on our back like a blanket and says to the person "Your Name, Sleep", as she does that she's rubbing your back and patting it.  If you talk to much or your eyes are open too long she gets in your face to remind you to  "sleep".  And don't think you can lay on your side or back, that's not "proper" positioning for the "game".  She'll make you lay flat.  It's the cutest, and funniest thing because she wants to play this "game" for 20+ minutes straight.  This is one of Zak's favorite games as he can just lay there and get a good backrub.  I, however, am not a fan as laying on my stomach is somewhat uncomfortable at 8 months pregnant on the hard floor.

Jesus Loves You, Yes he Does!

I love watching Zak and Harleigh interact.  There's nothing that pulls at a wife's/mother's heartstrings then seeing her husband playing on his hands and knees with his kid.  Zak is a very hands-on dad and I probably don't give him enough credit for the blessing he is in both my life and in Harleigh's.  Recently, as we started to put Harleigh to bed Zak sings her a song he made up.  Harleigh loves it, recites it, and sings it throughout the day.  Here it is, I know very simple, but keep in mind his audience is a 1 yr old:

"Daddy loves you, Yes he does....
Mommy loves you, Yes she does...
Baby Brother loves you, Yes he does..."
and so on with other family members (Mimi, Bibi, Gigi, Papa, Landon, Baby Brooks, Aunts, Uncles, etc)
and then he always finishes with -
"Jesus loves you, Yes he does" (Which is Harleigh's cue that it's time for night night.)

It's little things like this that put a smile on my face and make me one happy and proud wife.  I love you Zak!

Bibi and Mimi's Visit

Harleigh loves her grandparents.  She is so spoiled when Mimi and Bibi come for a visit as she gets 100% of their attention and usually gets additional treats and activities. Zak and I are also spoiled as they always offer to babysit so we can have a date night or evening out.  Below are pictures from when they visited for Zak's birthday and New Year's.  We rode the lightrail to Imaginon and had a picnic outside:

Bibi's lap= Cheeto's

Mimi always has to share he lunch with Harleigh, even if they have the same thing, it's always better from Mimi's plate

Thank you Mimi and Bibi for the fun day trip!  We look forward to more with the arrival of the little guy!
