New Words!

Our little chatterbox has been talking up a storm and saying even longer more complex words:

Bubble (this is either bubbles or her pinwheel she loves to play with outside)

Flower (we no longer have any flowers in the front yard, H loves to say "flower" and pick one, then do it over and over again)

Love you (can't get the "L" sound yet, but say "uv u")

Thank you (after receiving a snack or toy, occasionally we'll get a "ank u")

Landon (this is her favorite! She LOVES Landon so whenever she hears it she wants to repeat it!)

Happy Birthday, Jayson Dean!

Happy birthday to my brother-in-law, Jason.  Dean has had the pleasure of being in my life for almost 10 years- through college, weddings, vacations, and holidays- I've enjoyed getting to know Dean and continue to test his PATIENCE!  He's a wonderful dad, husband, brother, and friend.  Hope you have a great day, Dean, full of all your favorite "classics":

The Best Birthday Ever!!!

I need to give a shoutout to my amazing, thoughtful, and generous hubby.  I had the best birthday this past weekend.  Zak took the time to plan it all, and I , along with Harleigh, had a wonderful time.  On Friday night, Zak was persistent on me opening my brithday gift he and Harleigh worked so hard on. I love gifts, so didn't put up much (if any) fight.  I got a new camera, a really nice Nikon camera!  One that I've been wanting for a few years, and the purpose of opening it early was so that when we went to the zoo the next day I would be able to use it.  The next morning, we went to the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, SC.  It was a beautiful day, slightly overcast so it wasn't too hot for our little princess who rode in her carriage for a majority of the day.  We were able to see everything- bears, birds, kangaroos, giraffes, elephants, zebras, gardens, fish, snakes, monkeys, etc...although the only animal we didn't see and will get all the credit, was a "dog".  Harleigh called every animal she saw a "dog".  After 30 attempts we stopped correcting her and just went with it!  We were able to take our time looking at each animal and I got the best present of all- a nap from my little girl!

Thank you, Zak for a wonderful birthday!  I appreciated it so much!

I also want to give a shout out to my parents who came over on my actually birthday with delicious SAS cupcakes, my sister and brother-in-law for watching Harleigh- so Zak and I could have a date night, to all my friends and family who left thoughtful texts, vmails, and emails.  And also, my brother, who LOVES to purposely leave me in suspense on my birthday and not give me a gift for atleast 4-6 months following my birthday! :)  Thank you to all!!!

Harleigh has the bestest mom ever!

Since Heidi loves to create top 5 lists, I thought I would create one for her for Mother's Day.

#5:  Heidi is an amazing nurturer!  Growing up with two older brothers we were not very nurturing to one another to say the least.  If Harleigh falls, gets sick, or needs someone to hold her, Heidi seems to know it before Harleigh does!  She is terrific at being there for Harleigh no matter how "small" a fall or bump she might have.

#4:  Heidi loves family time!  It's a true blessing to have a wife who wants nothing more than to spend time with Harleigh and I.  We watch tv (ONLY when Harleigh is asleep) that really shows how are our generation is very "me", and selfish, and puts family way down on there list of priorities.  Heidi is AWESOME at putting Harleigh and I at the top of  the list and we wouldn't want it any other way.

#3:  Heidi is an amazing cook!  She is very creative when it comes to feeding Harleigh and myself.  Harleigh always eats better when Mom is feeding her or eating next to her.  We are truly blessed that we get great home cooked meals=)

#2:  Heidi has let me back in as a Carolina Panther fan, and Harleigh too!  When the Panthers drafted Cam Newton and soon will demote Jimmy Clausen, I will be a Panther fan once again.  Don't worry, I have great respect for the Steelers and will continue to hope they do well, just not as much as the Pathers (That is what Heidi sometimes refers to them as instead of Panthers, inside joke).

#1:  Heidi has become an extraordinary women/mother of God.  She always makes sure Harleigh says her prayers at night and before meals.  She continuously prays for Harleigh's well being and is always quick to give God thanks for all He has blessed us with.  I thank God every day for the blessing he has given Harleigh and I with the bestest mom ever!

Eurotrip 2011

As I mentioned in previous posts, my sister, brother-in-law, Zak and myself went on a two week vacation to Europe in April.  It was a long time to be away from our little girl, we probably won't be going away that long again.  We first arrived in Venice, Italy.  We were happy to have made it safely, unfortunately, we can't say the same about our luggage. We had a connecting flight in Austria and had to run to catch it, in the process 2 of our 4 pieces of luggage didn't make it.  As we sat on the tarmac getting ready to leave, we saw one of our bags.  The guy that dropped off our bag, put it on the tarmac, hopped back in the cart and left.  We sat in our seats waiting for them to load it in luggage compartment.  We then heard the plane doors shut, and the stewardesses begin the lift off and safety overview.  We waved our arms and began pointing that our bag was still sitting on the tarmac.  Apparently, when the engines started they can't load any more luggage.  So while in Venice, we only had partial outfits, I had all tops no pants, Zak had bottoms few tops.  We have a picture, but I'll need to upload later.

Accessories, Make-up, and Hair OH MY!!

We always joke how Harleigh "came out with shoes and accessories", but now that she's getting bigger and more opinionated and independent she's starting to have her own interests.  Right now, she's really into all things "girlie".  She loves to get ready with mommy- brushing her hair, using a brush for make up (which goes to her head), if mom puts a necklace on- Harleigh has to have a necklace on too.  It is too cute!  I look forward to getting a picture of her "all dolled up" as she gets older!
