It's a....

We found out a few weeks ago the sex of the baby.  We wanted to keep it a surprise and do something creative in how we would announce it to family here.  Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures but we had a cake with chocolate icing and BLUE dyed cake.  Baby Kamm #2 is a BOY!  We're so excited that Harleigh will have a little brother to play with/boss around/dress up.  Here come trucks, balls, and everything boyish.

Rainy Days

Today it's been raining all morning, and it's actually been kind of nice. With the change in weather, it's nice to wake up and cuddle for a little longer in bed with the ones (I'm referring to Harleigh and Zak :))you love while hearing the rain fall on the roof.  It slows you down, which is exactly what I need some days.  Here's to taking it a little slower today...

Kamm Family Game Night

A fun new game at the Kamm household is to count to 3 and then fall on the pillows on Mommy and Daddy's bed.  We play this game almost everyday.  Pictures below of Harster playing...

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend, you can guess what we'll be doing at some point during the weekend!

It's Official, it's been blogged...

I guess in today's world, things aren't official until they're put on Facebook or blogged.  Well, Zak and I are happy to announce that we are expecting Baby #2, March 4, 2012.  This pregnancy has definitely been much more difficult than the first.  Partly because I have an 18 month old running around, so laying around trying to get into a comfortable position so I'm not nauseous is very difficult to do.

A few notes on this pregnancy, for me to look back at since I didn't have a blog with Harleigh's.

- it took 3 tries to pass a pregnancy test- first 2 tests were negative, last one positive (it took 5 tries with Harleigh).  What can I say?  I hate tests :)
- after confirming the pregnancy, I had an ultrasound done because I'm super "special", and they pushed me back a week and a half (with H, I was pushed back 3 weeks)
- morning sickness started at 7 wks, with Har it was 9
-morning sickness lasted until 14 1/2 wks, with Har it was closer to 11-12wks and I felt really good at 14 (definitely worse this time around)
- went in for my 15 wk appt, had to have another "bonus" ultrasound since my uterus was measuring at 20wks, ultrasound confirmed only 1 baby (phew!)

Other than the morning sickness, everything else is going good.  Well, other than this is going to be a monster baby!  Next ultrasound is in Oct where we find out the sex of Baby Kamm!  We plan to tell everyone the sex, just not the name, we like to decide that when baby arrives.

Florida Vacation

Earlier this month we went down to Ft. Myers, FL to visit family.  It was great to catch up with everyone, and Harleigh did great on the trip.  The weather was great, the beach was clean, and there were babies, babies, babies!! Thank you again for your hospitality Aunt Nancy and Uncle Butchie we had a wonderful time!  Pete, Alex, and Ava it was so good to see you guys and catch up!

At the pool, picture perfect weather!

Look at the sunbathing cuties!

I couldn't get a picture of the two of them ever looking in the same direction, they were always looking at each other

They're both smiling- kinda

On the trip back we headed to Downtown Disney for a little detour and to get rid of some energy

Someone enjoyed the orange sherbet icee and I'm not talking about Harleigh :)

Happy 30th Birthday, Ginger!

Today is my sister's 30th birthday.  I thought I would take time to highlight a few things that I love about Ginger, in Micheals cousin fashion (hehe):

Gabby.  Ginger has been known to talk so fast no one can decipher the words coming out.  She can literally say an entire sentence in one word.

Innovative, since there isn't a C for Creative this will work too.  I've made the mistake of agreeing to have 2 parties with Ginger this year.  The babies 1st Birthday and my parents Surprise 50th.  In each of these situations, Ginger signed us up to create/make items that would "add" to the birthday.  A photo booth with endless props, cupcakes made to look like popcorn, a string of cupcake papers with coordinating colors as the party, etc, etc, etc.  Ginger likes to spend the extra time to create memorable items that people will love.  And she does!

Network (Food Network, that is).  I had to include this somehow.  Ginger is one of the few people I know that will watch hours of cooking shows, and usually not make anything she sees!  She is a great cook, and I call her anytime I have a cooking or baking question as she is my "Cookbook on Call".

Gorgeous.  This goes back to when we went camping as kids, we would have a chant we would do with whoever was in the boat.  Grumpy Grandpa, Rambunctious Rachel, Knuckle nose Naomi, etc...Ginger would always say she was Gorgeous Ginger.

Entertaining.  Ginger loves to entertain.  When she has a party you can guarantee there will be delicious food, a creative theme, and no detail will be missed (see I, Innovative).

Reliable.  Ginger is very reliable.  I know I can count on her to follow through, help with Harleigh, keep secrets.

Happy 30th Birthday, Ginger.  We're so blessed to have you in our lives!
